Carol Vorderman has been appointed as Prostate Cymru's first ever female ambassador.

The former Countdown presenter, who'll help support fundraising events for the charity throughout the year, said 'About 20 years ago, my manager was diagnosed with Prostate cancer, he survived but over the following years I found out a lot about the disease. Many of my friends who I grew up with in North Wales are of the age now where prostate cancer is of serious concern. Therefore, it is the least I can do to repay the love and kindness always shown to me, to be able to join with Prostate Cymru to highlight awareness about this disease which affects so many of our men'.
